 About us: 

Based in beautiful Whanganui Te Oranganui is a kaupapa Māori organisation who offers a range of health and wellbeing services for whānau in the Whanganui region and surrounding districts. 

Te Taihāhā is whānau centered, and sensitive to the needs and aspirations of whānau living with disabilities. Te Taihāhā has access to and relevant information and advocacy support essential in planning requirements to meet the support needs of the individual. Te Taihāhā is looking for that special someone who can fit in with a team of fit, enthusiastic professionals who support those in the community with disabilities while helping them achieve their life goals, increase their independence and engage with communities.


About the role:

Our support workers are:

  • Able to assist clients with personal cares, showering, feeding and medication oversight
  • Able to support in the home with basic household duties, meal preparation and shopping
  • Tech savvy – able to use our leave applications, complete on-line time-sheeting as well as being able to use our online training portals to upskill themselves for free.
  • Strong communicators and committed to building sound working relationships


About you:

  • Be able to start immediately
  • Work alternate weekends
  • Whilst not essential, some work in the disability support sector would be an advantage (Level 2 & 3 HSW Support)
  • Must have a clean and valid driver’s license & own transport
  • Must be eligible to work in NZ
  • Subject to clean police clearance check
