Te Oranganui is searching for a Nurse Team Leader to guide and support our practice nursing team across both Te Waipuna clinics and in the community. This role is key to delivering high-quality, whānau-centred care and driving health outcomes.

As part of the Te Waipuna leadership team, you’ll lead clinical practice, help to uphold Whānau Ora values, and be a part of an exciting team working to shape the future of our services and improve how we support whānau in determining their pathway to wellness.

You’ll be responsible for clinical oversight, mentoring nurses, and working collaboratively with GPs, Kaiāwhina, and our community team to support our enrolled population of 5,300.

Together we are working in connection with each other and with the whānau at the centre of their health and wellbeing journey.

  • Leads with clinical expertise and compassion.
  • Thrives both independently and within a collaborative team.
  • Champions holistic, evidence-based care.
  • Connects confidently with whānau compassionately and collaboratively along with other health care professionals.
  • Is adaptable, forward-thinking, and committed to improving health outcomes.
  • Is a flexible, adaptable and a critical thinker.
  • Understands our context in terms of our rohe, communities - challenges and opportunities.

Since 1993, Te Oranganui and by extension Te Waipuna has remained steadfast in its commitment to Whānau Ora, a values-based approach that continues to guide our team in realising the founding vision: KOROWAITIA TE PUNA WAIORA, HEI ORANGA MOTUHAKE MŌ TE IWI. It is therefore integral that you will uphold and maintain a holistic approach to patient care underpinned by the values of Whānau Ora.
