Te Oranganui is a kaupapa Māori organisation based in the iconic Whanganui, offering a wide range of health and wellbeing services to whānau across of Ngāti Apa/Ngā Wairiki, Te Ātihaunui a Pāpārangi and Ngā Rauru Kītahi rohe. 

Te Waipuna is our General Practice arm which serves an enrolled population of 5,300 across two Practices. Our team consists of GPs, Registered Nurses and a Community Team who all work in connection with each other with the whānau at the centre of their health and wellbeing journey. 

About the role
The Kaitūruki – Cancer Support Role is a vital connector, and the right person will advocate for whānau throughout their cancer journey. From prevention and early detection to diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship, you will ensure whānau are informed, empowered, and supported every step of the way.

About you
You will be grounded in tikanga and can navigate Te Ao Māori, with a strong work ethic and deep connections across the rohe. You’ll bring empathy, resilience, and the ability to build trust quickly. Your experience having worked with whānau, hapū and iwi will enable you to navigate complex situations with grace and clarity.
