He kōrero mō te ratonga | About the Service

Te Waipuna Health is the General Practice arm of Te Oranganui, delivering primary healthcare services to approximately 5,300 enrolled patients across two practices. Through accessible, high-quality and affordable care, we support individuals and whānau to achieve their health and wellbeing goals while strengthening the wellbeing of our communities.

He kōrero mō te tūranga | About the Role 

As a Nurse Practitioner, you will provide advanced, evidence-based and culturally safe healthcare to individuals and whānau within our primary health care service. Working autonomously and collaboratively alongside General Practitioners, nurses, and allied health professionals, you will undertake advanced clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing patient management while contributing to clinical leadership, quality improvement, and positive health outcomes for our community. This is a permanent full-time role.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Provide advanced assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic health conditions.
  • Deliver person-centred and culturally safe care to individuals and whānau.
  • Prescribe medications, order diagnostic tests, and develop management plans within scope of practice.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to provide coordinated care.
  • Contribute to clinical leadership, quality improvement, and positive health outcomes.

 He kōrero mōu | About You 

  • Current registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • Current Annual Practising Certificate and prescriber authority.
  • Demonstrated advanced clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
  • Experience working in primary healthcare, community, or integrated care settings.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, health equity, and culturally safe practice.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
